Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill was one of the first residential neighbourhoods to respond to the demands of oil sands development-on the rise in 1974. A contemporary residential area of 2,480 residents with single family homes, townhouses and manufactured homes, it is defined by Highway 63 on the east side, and the Hangingstone River on the west and north. The area has two schools, churches, neighbourhood commercial facilities as well as recreation facilities and open spaces. It is one of the few areas in Fort McMurray that is completely developed.
